Study BACHELOR OF NURSING in Australia

The Bachelor of Nursing prepares for the role of registered nurse in Australia. The course is nationally accredited through the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation council and approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Nurses with this qualification are typically given administrative roles and higher salaries as they are capable of delivering a safe, patient-centred and informed therapeutic care in a variety of health care settings.

Course Duration

It typically takes 3 years’ full time or equivalent part time to complete Bachelor of Nursing. Major areas of study include anatomy and physiology, community care nursing, mental health nursing, acute care nursing and medical surgical nursing with an emphasis on research-based practice.

Course Structure

The course comprises of theoretical and practical content that is backed by practice laboratories, clinical simulation and practice. It also prepares one to be competent for diverse and complex health care environments through ground-breaking research and academic excellence.

Entry Requirements

To get eligible for the enrolment in Bachelor of Nursing, it is mandatory to have

Completed secondary school qualification equivalent to an Australian Year 12 certificate
Completed a relevant diploma or Certificate IV with relevant work experience
Achieved an overall score of:
IELTS (academic module) with a minimum overall score of 7 and a minimum score of 7 in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).
OET with a minimum score of B in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).

Additionally, applicants are required to have successfully completed a LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) test and exhibit competency at Level 4. Applicants are also required to provide evidence of following things to get eligible for professional experience placements:

National Police Clearance
Working with Children Check
Immunisation record
PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 65 and a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).
TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 94 and the following minimum score in each section of the test:
24 for listening, 24 for reading, 27 for writing, and 23 for speaking
