Significant Changes to Skilled Occupation List 2018 Revealed!

If you are a potential aspirant looking to migrate to Australia, you would probably be familiar with the term Skilled Occupation List (SOL).

It is a standard list of occupations currently acknowledged for immigration to Australia. The list comprises of different categories including professionals, managers, traders, etc and is applicable to following visas:

  • Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme
  • Subclass 187 Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme
  • Subclass 189 Skilled Independent visa
  • Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated visa
  • Subclass 485 Temporary Graduate visa
  • Subclass 489 Skilled Regional Sponsored visa

The Department of Home Affairs updates the SOL on a regular basis to demonstrate or echo changes in the Australian Labor Market and current demand for occupations in the country.

Following is the summary of proposed changes made on 17 January 2018 to the list of eligible skilled occupations.

Note: Base Salary Requirement has been raised to $90,000

The above changes will be applicable to the applications lodged on or after 17 January 2018 and will not affect the applications lodged prior to this date.
