Who does 482 benefit
The 482 visa is a temporary visa enabling an employer to sponsor a skilled workforce from across the globe. It is administration providing leeway to the employer so that the latter addresses labour shortages existing within his industry. Under visa guidelines, every employee after being sponsored has to work full-time in Australia and within the nominated position of the advertisement posted by the employer.
In all likelihood, the advertisement works to the advantage of Australian worker who is preferred more for nominated position. Interestingly though different skilled occupations in Australia are based on short-term, medium to long-term stream and regional stream whereby each of them benefits applicants with respective occupations on the basis of visa. The streams consist of STSOL (Short-Term Skilled Occupations List), MLTSSL (Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List) and ROL (Regional Occupation List). If STSOL is valid up to 2 years, it is MLTSSL/ROL valid for a period of 4 years. Typically, Temporary Skill Shortage visa depends on applicants meeting English and age requirements.
A lot is decided by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) Australia checking relevant information whereby applicant’s qualifications and skills against nominated position on the basis of TSS visa are met. Besides, the visa also supports details of health and character of a person. Police clearance certificates should also be included wherein every applicant has to produce documents of living in a particular country for 12 months or more since the time he has turned 16.

If you wish to pursue a career as a pharmacist, check out the provisions related to how to become a registered pharmacist in Australia. As an international student, you have to understand different procedures. One of them is getting your pharmacist registration done at the earliest with authorities of the Australian state, province or territory concerned. Doing so is mandatory. Otherwise, it would be an offence.
There are several options if you want to apply for pharmacist jobs in Australia. You can work in hospitals, retail businesses, academic, pharmaceutical industry, government bodies or armed services.
General Skilled Migration
To migrate and work in Australia, an individual aspiring to become a pharmacist has to file visa application under the General Skilled Migration category. Two visas—Skilled Nominated Visa – subclass 190 and Skilled Regional sponsored visa – subclass 489 are relevant to work in the country.

Are you thinking of applying for a Partner visa Australia? If you are not married, the Department of Home Affairs Australia expects you to meet the one-year De Facto relationship requirement for the grant of Partner Visa.
To lodge a partner visa, you have to demonstrate that your relationship existed for at least a year by the time you are submitting the application.
What is a De Facto Relationship According to Australian Law?
According to Australian Family Law, a De Facto (meaning: in practice) relationship means:
- The couple has lived together or apart only on a temporary basis
- The partners have a reciprocal commitment to a shared life
- The relationship is authentic and will continue in the future
- The partners are not related
- The couple must have been in the relationship for at least 12 months before applying for the visa
- The partners are not legally married
- The partners are not related to each other
Partners Living Together
Living together is a part of some relationships. Here’s what you need to know:
- The one-year relationship yardstick doesn’t require the partners to have lived together for the whole period of a year
- The Australian authorities appreciate that you and your partner may have had to live apart for a period, due to work or family commitments.
- Having said that, the couple has to prove that the separation was temporary, and that they had lived together at some point from the beginning of the relationship.
Evidence to Prove De Facto Relationship
Providing the Australian authorities with the history of your relationship is one way to do it. You will have to submit a signed relationship statement that will provide the authorities with all details.
Such a statement should cover:
- Details of how, when and where you met your partner
- How your relationship developed over time
- Proof of commitment when it comes to supporting each other: emotionally, financially and physically
- If there was a period of separation due to certain commitments, how you kept close contact even during that time
- Your plans for the future as a pair
Must Read: Different Types Of Australia Partner & Spouse Visas
The Authorities expect you to furnish the details of the following four aspects:
- Financial aspects of your relationship
- Nature of your household
- The social context of your relationship
- Your commitment to each other
1. Financial Aspects of Your Relationship
You must provide details of a functional joint bank account. The joint account should have a history of continuous transactions. This proves that you and your partner are sharing expenses.
For example: There can be transactions showing that you paid rent through a joint account.
Other ways to prove joint financial responsibilities are joint liabilities such as bank loans, joint lease, joint utility bills (internet or electricity bills), joint health insurance, joint car purchase and insurance cover, or joint ownership of the house.
2. Nature of Your Household
Your statement details should consist of hard evidence depicting the nature of the household that you and your partner shared.
This can be in the form of furniture purchase receipts, joint household bills as well as letters to both of you directed to the same address.
3. The Social Context of Your Relationship
While hard evidence may be difficult to provide sometimes, it is relatively easy to prove the social context of your relationship. You have to show that you two are accepted as a couple socially.
How?
You can provide your photos as a couple and with friends and family, your travel documents (flight tickets, hotels booked for the both of you), proof of social activities that you attended as a couple (joint invitations), evidence of common friends.
4. Your Commitment to Each Other
This can be proved by telling the authorities about the duration of the relationship, knowledge of each other, declaration of intent to have a long-term relationship (proven by terms of each other’s wills), any form of correspondence (letters, emails) and phone details to prove that the couple maintained contact even during periods of separation.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) recently updated the Orana Skilled Occupation List, implementing some changes to the application process. The changes, announced on 31st July 2018, have simplified some confusions among applicants. The list includes some accountant occupations:
- Finance Manager
- Accountant (General)
- Management Accountant
- External Auditor
- Internal Auditor
However, as the invitation ceiling for Accountants is high, it has become a cause for concern amongst accountants concerning their Permanent Residency. Aussizz Group has come up with a novel solution for such professionals: Apply for Skilled Regional Provisional Visa (subclass 489) under the Orana region. The Subclass 489 enables you to live and work in regional Australia for 4 years. After spending 2 years on Subclass 489, you will also be eligible to apply for Permanent Residency, provided you satisfy the criteria.
Your subclass 489 application has to include personal and work-experience details. Every detail helps you gain valuable points through SkillSelect. The rule of thumb is the more details you provide, the better your prospects are with immigration authority processing your application. Last year alone, few applicants received invitations from the government. Invitations, however, have increased now with many applicants collecting as many as 80 points or more on the basis of SkillSelect. On the flip side, there are more rounds this year with a mere 5 invitations issued per round.
Evaluation of points
To qualify for 489 visas, applicants have to first lodge their applications on the basis of SkillSelect to get invitations by the authority. Invitations are subject to which applicants are eligible for pathways to permanent residency in any state/territory of Australia.
For invitation purposes, the entire process to lodge your application has to be completed within 60 days. An invitation will lapse if there is a delay beyond said period with your application getting rejected. Ensure that you complete every documentation and do it effectively in the stipulated time.
Along with personal and work experience details, you have to lodge an Expression of Interest so that your visa application gets processed, meet desired scores thereby getting an invite/sponsorship by specific state/territory government, being proficient in English language to meeting character and health insurance requirements.
SkillSelect requirement
Different professionals have different SkillSelect requirements. If 75 points is the slab fixed for IT and engineering professionals, 80 points is the score allotted to accountants. The invitation ceiling for accountants, especially, has become more challenging with 5 applicants selected in each round.
One of the places in Australia where you can build your career as an accountant is the Orana region located in New South Wales. Pursue on your dream with a promising career as there are abundant accounting jobs that you can choose from in the state’s diverse region, which caters to needs of over 120,000 people.
Boost your prospects if you want to work and live in the country for at least 4 years with 489 Skilled Regional Provisional Visa. As the name suggests, the 4-year provisional visa works to your advantage if you have a relative in Australia who is willing to sponsor you. You can avail of sponsorship benefits from either state or territory government.
Fill your application and documentation details with our team of Immigration and Education who have the necessary expertise and experience to guide you.
Get clarity on other visas such as Skilled Independent Visa, and Skilled Nominated visa or Employer Nomination Scheme from our team whose knowledge and many years of experience enhance your prospects with a secured stay in Australia.
